Porthleven holds another successful Food and Music Festival

Porthleven has just held its sixth Food and Music Festival. Like previous years, this community lead event, sponsored by both local and Duchy wide businesses, was a huge success.

Sadly the weather gods were little mean on the Saturday with heavy downpours during the day. However, despite this awful weather the attendance at the festival was very good.

The food element is just one part of the event, and is mainly on the
Saturday. On Friday evening and Sunday from noon, residents and visitors were treated to a whole variety of bands and musicians who catered for just about all music tastes. Everyone of them entertaining the gathered crowd.

The success of this event lays squarely on the shoulders of the event organisers who volunteer to organise this event. Without their dedication this event would not be the success it is.

Credit should also go to the sponsors of this event. This enables the event to remain free for everyone to enjoy. The aim of the festival is for all to enjoy the event and for free. This is why the sponsorship is so important and should be recognised.

The festival was closed on Sunday evening with a terrific firework display that left people wowing, and looking forward to next years event.

Again well done, who organised, sponsored and enjoyed the delights of the festival.

Heartfelt congratulation not only to the volunteers and organisers, but all the people who ignored the bad weather and attended! A truly world-class event here in Porthleven. Brilliant!
