Joint Working in Gibson Way

After the success of the crossing at the Boating Lake my next highways issue was the problem of parking along Gibson Way. The residents of this road have wanted something done, and I felt the problem was important enough to spend some of my limited highways budget on.

The best solution to this problem was to extend the current parking bays to allow more cars to park off the road. The cost however was going to be around £14k.

Working with the newly formed Porthleven Residents Association and Coastline Housing it was decided that to help this project become reality Coastline Housing would contribute to the project the sum of £5500. I am extremely grateful for both the Association and Coastlines help, as without it this project would have been a lot harder to pull off.

The works is now nearly completed, and from the feed back I have so far received the residents are very happy.

It shows working together can achieve something that is of benefit to all. For me, it also allows me to spread my limited highways budget further.
