Collin Brewer Resigns

Within the last hour, the Monitoring Officer has confirmed to all Cornwall Councillors, that Collin Brewer has resigned as a Cornwall Councillor with immediate effect.

The email is as follows:

Dear Members
I have today received the formal written confirmation from Councillor Brewer that he has resigned from Cornwall Council with immediate effect.

Members will be advised in due course of the timetable for the Wadebridge East by-election.

I hope with this resignation, this issue can now be closed allowing the Council, it’s Councillors and Officers, and partner agencies to get on with their respective roles.

Let’s hope this is an end to the additional anguish and upset felt by many families across the County, that already deal with so much.

  • Relieved today, but yet still saddened that attitudes like his still exist, that it took so long to get him removed, that our council were so powerless in the beginning.
But heartened by the universal worldwide support from families, charities and media outlets.
CB has at least brought many of us together.

Thank you for all you have done.

I’m glad that Mr Brewer has resigned which he should have done long ago or even stayed resigned in the firsf place. I hope he doesn’t expect another payoff like last time as he should get nothing. That’s my opinion

Quote. ‘I hope with this resignation, this issue can now be closed allowing the Council, it’s Councillors and Officers, and partner agencies to get on with their respective roles.’

No. Not closed. Parliament should now make sure that someone with such strong opinions about killing children should NEVER be allowed to enter politics and be the representative of the people.

Thanks from me ( a mere member of the public) too, for all who have helped bring this to light.

‘allowing councillors and officers to get on with their respective roles’ yes lets get them providing the services that families with disabled children need, deserve and have a right to in a timely manner without having to fight for them at every level.
